Captain Pete Simerson was promoted to Captain in February 2024 and is currently assigned to oversee the Investigative Services Division. The Investigative Services Division includes the Detective Bureau, School Resource Program, Narcotics Detective, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Crime Scene Investigators, and the Evidence property room.
Captain Simerson is responsible for the administration of the Investigative Services Division including supervision, budget preparation, Freedom of Information management and compliance, evaluation, and personnel management. Captain Gillis plans and coordinates activities with Detectives, School Resource Officers, the community, and other agencies for the efficient operation of the Investigative Services Division. He advises and assists subordinates in highly complex criminal investigations and is responsible for daily briefings with the Chief of Police on case assignments, progress, and present status.
