Water Laboratory Information

The laboratory is drinking water certified by the State of Michigan to test for Total and Fecal Coliform Bacteria, the primary indicator organism for water quality.  Other routine testing includes chlorine (disinfectant), pH, hardness, alkalinity, chlorides, turbidity and fluoride.  The State Drinking Water Laboratory annually tests the City’s drinking water for a wide range of other potential contaminants as required by the EPA.
