TRAVERSE CITY- Motorists and pedestrians should be aware that the City of Traverse City Street Department will be closing a portion of Maple Street in the 800 Block (between 11th Street and 12th Street), starting Monday, September 11, to repair an underground storm sewer structure. This work will be completed by Friday, September 15, weather permitting.

The work will require this portion of Maple Street to be closed. Access to the alley between Maple Street and Oak Street will be from OAK STREET ONLY.  Access to the alley between Maple Street and Division Street will be CLOSED AT MAPLE STREET.  Residents along this alley will be allowed to park on 11th and 12th Streets for the duration of this project.  TC Streets crew will work with residents when possible to allow entry to alley from Maple Street.

Provisions are being made for waste and recycling pickup.  American Waste will be able to access these areas to complete their work.

Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion, delay and inconvenience for your travels. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.

This construction will generate dust, noise and cause inconvenience. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. Please feel free to call Mark Jones at 922-4901 ext. 112 if you have any questions, comments or concerns about the work or the schedule.
