Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance amendment public hearing: Nov 7

Please take notice that the Traverse City Planning Commission has scheduled a Public Hearing for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in the Commission Chambers on the second floor of the Governmental Center, 400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan, to consider:

  • An amendment to the Definitions, Section 1320.07, Uses Allowed, Section 1332.01; and Accessory buildings, Section 1332.07 in the Single Family Dwelling Chapter, the Uses Allowed, Section 1334.01; and Accessory buildings, Section 1334.07 in the Two Family Dwelling Chapter, and Motor vehicle parking in Section 1374.03 (d) of the Traverse City Code of Ordinances regarding modifying the definition of dwelling unit, the conditions regulating ADUs and accessory buildings in the single family dwelling district and expansion of ADUs to the two family dwelling district.
  • An amendment the Uses Allowed, Section 1336.01 in the Multiple Family Dwelling Chapter of the Traverse City Code of Ordinances expansion regarding allowing accessory dwelling units in the multiple family dwelling districts with conditions

You may view the proposed amendments at the Planning Department. Our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.  You are hereby invited to voice your opinion by attending the public hearing or by sending comments to the Planning Commission, by mail at 400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan 49684, or email at planningcommission@traversecitymi.gov stating your reasons for approval or disapproval.
