At the City Commission’s November 13, 2017, Organizational Meeting, City Clerk Benjamin Marentette will present a plaque to outgoing Mayor Pro Tem Gary Howe, acknowledging his service on the City Commission.
Also at the City Commission’s November 13, 2017, Organizational Meeting, City Clerk Benjamin Marentette will swear in re-elected Mayor Jim Carruthers, elected Commissioner Michele Howard, Commissioner-elect Brian McGillivary and re-elected Commissioner Tim Werner. They will officially assume their term of office once sworn in.
The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers on the Second Floor of the Governmental Center at 400 Boardman Avenue in Traverse City, Michigan. Of course, the meeting is open to the public and all are welcome.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the City Commission will select one of its members to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for a one-year term; and re-elected Mayor Jim Carruthers and the City Commission will make various appointments to boards.
