Special Tree Planting, May 11, 2018


TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City will be completing a special tree planting near Thirlby Field on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Trees will be planted at the corner of 13th Street and Wadsworth with help from a Preschool class from Central Grade School.  Arbor Day is a celebration of the importance of trees to the beauty of our parks, streets and yards along with the other environmental and aesthetic benefits of trees.  Although Arbor Day has passed, the significance of the day will be discussed along with the importance of trees to all of us.




The City of Traverse City is located in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. Traverse City was incorporated in 1891 as a Village and in 1895 as a City. It encompasses 8.09 square miles and has a population of 14,674 (2010 Census).
