Public Service Announcement

Field work to begin for TWC’s Kids Creek Stream Corridor Restoration Project

Field crews will begin work this week on The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay’s (TWC’s) Kids Creek Stream Corridor Restoration Project.  While work will take place in the vicinity of Munson Hospital, field activities are not expected to have any impact on public or emergency service travel as crews will maintain 2-way traffic.

The overall project includes replacement of four Kids Creek road crossing structures in the City of Traverse City (Cedar Street north, Cedar Street south, 6th Street, and Elmwood Ave), as well as habitat restoration work on the main branch of Kids Creek between Silver Lake Road and US31/M37.  Field crews will be working in these locations starting November 14 and continuing through December 31st.  Please use caution when traveling in the areas where geotechnical and survey crews will be present.

This is a joint project between The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay and the City of Traverse City, funded through the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Fisheries Program.
