Are you passionate about City parks, human rights, or preserving the history of our City or know someone who is?

The City welcomes and encourages your active participation by serving on a Commission-appointed Board. The City is seeking volunteers for a variety of Boards. Join other Board volunteer members in shaping policy initiatives and services affecting the community. The City welcomes and encourages your active participation by serving!

The following Boards have positions with expiring terms or current vacancies:

  • Arts Commission
  • Art Selection Panel
  •  Human Rights Commission
  • Historic Districts Commission
  •  Board of Zoning Appeals
  • Planning Commission

Thank you for your interest in serving on one of Traverse City’s Boards! As a potential Board member, you will serve as an ambassador to the community, helping our City Commission move forward with services affecting the community. No matter your interests, we have a Board to fit your passion. All Boards help us build a great community together.
