Medical Marihuana Lottery Results & Next Steps!
PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Subject: Medical marihuana provisioning center permit lottery results and next steps
Primary Contact: Benjamin Marentette, City Clerk, (231) 922-4480, firstname.lastname@example.org
Issued: May 3, 2019
City Clerk Benjamin Marentette conducted the lottery for medical marihuana provisioning center permits at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, in the Commission Chambers within the Governmental Center at 400 Boardman Avenue. The lottery was open to the public.
A maximum of 13 provisional permits for provisioning centers may be issued; the City Clerk will issue a provisional permit to the first thirteen with a different location. A provisional permit does not authorize a medical marihuana facility to sell medical marihuana.
The applicants that are issued a provisional permit will have six months to obtain their final state license, undergo an extensive application review process to ensure all required elements comply with legal requirements, pass physical building inspections and clear a background investigation that will be conducted by the Traverse City Police Department.
Provisional permit holders who successfully complete all of these aforementioned steps within six months from the issuance date of a provisional permit, along with any other legal requirements, will be issued a medical marihuana facilities permit. A medical marihuana facilities permit authorizes the permit holder to sell medical marihuana. (A provisional permit may be extended once, for six months, for good cause, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If a provisional permit lapses, the City Clerk will issue a provisional permit to the next applicant on the eligibility list.)
Any duplicate locations that would have otherwise made the top thirteen will not be included in the eligibility list. Attached is the eligibility list – those with a number between 1 and 13 under the “eligibility list column” will be issued a provisional permit.
