Lane closures on US-31 Murchie Bridge in Traverse City Sept. 11-22 for final painting

PROJECT:                          

Contractors for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be doing final painting of concrete portions of the newly rehabilitated US-31/M-72 bridges over the Boardman River. This portion of the project could not be done until the concrete had cured adequately.

This work finishes up a $1.5 million project to make deck repairs, replace bearings and paint the bridges over the Boardman River. The project started Feb. 22, and was largely completed by June 9.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:                     

This work will require single-lane closures under flag control. One lane will be open in each direction at all times.

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City Water and Wastewater Maintenance Department will be conducting water system improvements on the 500 block of 8th Street (between Oak St. and Maple St.) on Tuesday, August 29th.  The street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion, delay and promote worker safety. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work area.

Washington St. Closure

8/25/2017

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and Alpers Excavating, Inc. will be repairing a water service lead at 325 Washington St. between Cass St. and Boardman Ave. The work is expected to begin Friday, August 25th and be finished by the end of the day. Schedule is subject to weather and/or production delays.

Washington St. between Cass St. and Boardman Ave. will be closed to all through traffic during the day. A detour will be provided using Cass St., E. State St., E. Front St. and Boardman Ave.              

Please use an alternate route to avoid this area to reduce congestion, delay and inconvenience for your travels.

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and Alpers Excavating, Inc. continue to make water service lead repairs in Cass St. between E. 11th St. and E. 13th St. The work is expected to be finished on Tuesday, August 22nd.

Cass St. between E. 12th St. and E. 13th St. will be closed to all traffic overnight. A detour has been provided using E. 11th St., S. Union St. and E. 13th St. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained on E. 12th St. at Cass St.

Plan-it east presents Trivia Night

Little Fleet   August 3, 2017   5:30-7:00 p.m.

TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN- The Traverse City Planning Department would like to invite the general public to participate in “plan-it east” by attending Trivia Night on August 3 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Little Fleet, located at 448 E. Front Street.

Plan-it east is a planning project currently underway to improve the identity of East Front Street from Park Street to Grandview Parkway. The street could be reconstructed as soon as 2019. We need the help of the community and property and business owners to provide input on the future of the streetscape and connected public spaces. The public spaces in the vicinity of the project area that we will be completing a review of and looking to the public for future vision include:

  • Park Street Bridge Repair
  • Park Street Beach Access
  • 300 Block Mid-Block Crosswalk
  • Lot D & Boardman River Boat-Launch
