PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Clancy Park Closure

5/1 – 7/9/2018

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and TC Concrete, LLC will be making improvements to Clancy Park.

The work is expected to start on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and be substantially complete on Monday, July 9, 2018. Schedule is subject to change due to weather.

Use of Clancy Park will be prohibited during construction.

Crews will be removing existing play structures and concrete, placing concrete sidewalks, making improvements to the natural walking area, and installing new play structures and surfacing, a park pavilion, site furnishings, and a basketball court.

Delays can be expected. Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.

Street Resurfacing

4/30 – 5/11/2018

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and Rieth – Riley Construction Co., Inc. will be resurfacing the following street segments:

Apache Pass               E. Front St. to Terminus

Birchwood Ave.         N. East Bay Blvd. to Western Ave.

Milliken Ct.                 Milliken Dr. to Terminus

Peninsula Ct.              Peninsula Dr. (M-37) to Terminus

Arnold Ct.                   W. Sixteenth St. to Terminus

W. Thirteenth St.       S. Oak St. to Wadsworth St.

Locust St.                    W. Eighth St. to W. Ninth St.

The work is expected to start on Monday, April 30th and be substantially complete on Friday, May 11, 2018. Schedule is subject to change due to weather.

Street segments will remain open to local traffic only. Through traffic will be prohibited.

Crews will be removing existing pavements, grading and compacting the gravel base and overlaying with hot mix asphalt.

Delays can be expected. Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.

The City welcomes and encourages your active participation by serving on a Commission-appointed Board. The City is seeking volunteers for a variety of Boards. SPRING SERVICES - RESIDENTIAL LOOSE LEAF AND BRUSH PICK UP GUIDELINES


Loose Leaf Pick Up: Monday, May 14, 2018 - Begins on the West side of City, moving East. Crews will only go down your street one time.

Brush Pick Up: Monday, May 14, 2018 - Begins on the West side of City, moving East. Crews will only go down your alley one time.


RULES:

LOOSE LEAF PICK-UP- 5/14/2018 - Do not place leaves in street prior to Thursday, May 10, 2018. Do Not Use Plastic Bags! Biodegradable Paper Bags are Ok. Place leaves on the street for pick-up, not in the alley. Please do not allow leaves to plug storm water drains.

BRUSH- 5/14/2018 - all brush must be neatly stacked. Large branches cannot exceed 4 inches in diameter, and CANNOT EXCEED ONE 8' x 8' x 4' HIGH PILE. Christmas trees are allowed. No logs, tree stumps or shrub root balls are allowed. Place in the alley if exists, or behind curb or pavement edge on street.


PLEASE REMEMBER, OTHER THAN THE SCHEDULED DATES FOR SPRING LOOSE LEAF PICK UP AND BRUSH PICK UP, IT IS AGAINST CITY ORDINANCE TO PLACE ANYTHING IN THE CITY STREET, ALLEY OR RIGHT-OF-WAY.
PLEASE HELP US KEEP THE STREETS CLEAN, FREE OF YARD DEBRIS, ANIMAL WASTE, LITTER, CIGARETTE BUTTS, PAINT AND AUTO FLUIDS. ANYTHING THAT GOES INTO A STORM DRAIN FLOWS TO GRAND TRAVERSE BAY.

 The City of Traverse City is proud to release the Community Resource Guide – a list of local services and phone numbers for community members in need. Our area is home to countless resources to assist with the many needs of our residents and neighbors, ranging from hunger, homelessness, medical care, addiction, legal or financial assistance, and many others.

Our region has built a great network through local churches, non-profits, and other organizations to make sure that those in need have access to programs that can help.  

Please help to get the word out by distributing this flyer in your businesses or common areas. If there are any updates to the existing information, or additions that need to be made, please reach out to our City Clerk’s Office at 231-922-4480 or by email to tcclerk@traversecitymi.gov.
