TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City Water and Wastewater Maintenance Department will be conducting water system improvements on Lincoln Street between Rose Street and Fern Street.  Lincoln Street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., between Rose Street and Fern Street to complete the work.  Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion, delay and promote worker safety. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work area.

The Traverse City Treasurer reminds City property owners that the summer taxes are due Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Please note you are welcome to Pay Your Taxes Online (extra fees do apply), come into our office, drop a payment in the "Red Drop Box" or mail a check to the Treasurer's Office.

Taxes not paid by July 31st will be charged a 2% penalty, plus 1/2 percent interest on August 1st. An additional 1/2 percent interest will be added each month until taxes are paid.

Also note, if you have recently purchased a home within Traverse City and have not received a tax bill, please call our office at (231) 922-4431 before July 31st for tax information.

Washington St. Closure

7/31 – 8/15/2018

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and Elmer’s Crane and Dozer, Inc. will be resurfacing Washington St. between S. Garfield Ave. and Prospect St. The work is expected to start on Tuesday, July 31st and be substantially complete on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Schedule is subject to change due to weather.

The contractor will remove the existing asphalt surface, grade and compact the gravel base and resurface with hot mix asphalt.

Washington St. between S. Garfield Ave. and Prospect St. will be closed to through traffic. Turning movements from S. Garfield Ave. onto Washington St. will be prohibited. A detour will be provided utilizing Webster St.

Delays can be expected. Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.

14th St. Lane Shifts

July 9th to July 12th, 2018

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City, Elmer’s Crane and Dozer and Bella Concrete Construction will be repairing existing sidewalk on the north and south side of 14th St. rated poor and very poor.

The project started Monday, July 9, 2018 and is expected to be completed on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Fourteenth St. will remain open to traffic with lane shifts around the work zones. Sidewalks will be closed at the work zones.

Delays can be expected. Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.

Iroquois St. Closure

7/9 – 7/27/2018

TRAVERSE CITY- The City of Traverse City and Elmer’s Crane and Dozer, Inc. will be resurfacing Iroquois St. between Huron St. and Wenonah St. The work is expected to start on Monday, July 9th and be substantially complete on Friday, July 27, 2018. Schedule is subject to change due to weather.

On Iroquois St., between Huron St. and Wenonah St., crews will remove the existing pavement and gravel.  Then they will place, grade and compact a new gravel base. The new gravel base will be paved with hot mix asphalt. Iroquois St. will be closed to all through traffic during the day when workers are present.

Delays can be expected. Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas.
