Records Division

The Traverse City Police Department's Records Division is located within the Sergeant Dennis W. Finch Law Enforcement Center located at 851 Woodmere Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan, 49686.    

The Records Division is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  They are closed most federal holidays.  The Records Division can be reached at:  231-995-5005.

Public Records Requests (FOIA) can be submitted via email to tcpdfoia@traversecitymi.gov or via fax at (231)995-5014.

The Records Division provides a variety of functions and can answer most of your questions.   Fees associated with some of  their services are listed below:


Application and license to purchase a pistol(s):   Free

Concealed weapons application fee for a new applicant:  $105
(includes fingerprinting fee)

Bicycle license:   Free

Police records check - in-house, local only:  $5

Accident report:   $5 for page one and $.25 each additional page

Police reports:  $2 for page one and $.25 each additional page

House moving and escorts:  $50 for the first hour, plus $25 for each additional hour
