NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS:
The City of
Floor, Governmental Center, 400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684,
Until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 for the 2017 Carnegie Building Elevator Replacement Project. The work involved in this project consists principally of the following:
- Remove existing elevator cab, machinery, hoist-way doors and all hoist-way rails, wiring and accessories to prepare for new cab and equipment.
- Enlarge existing hoist-way and pit per drawings, including vertical extension.
- Install new barrier-free compliant elevator cab and equipment including connection to the buildings existing fire and smoke alarm systems. Modify existing door openings as required.
- Alternate- Install new “custom” elevator cab and equipment within existing hoist-way. Include vertical hoist-way extension only as required for new elevator equipment. The owner strongly desires a cab with a 60” x 60” minimum clear floor area and will favor a bid that comes as close as possible to this end product.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 25, 2017 at Carnegie Building, 322 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan. Plans and specifications may be examined at the Office of the City Engineer after April 17, 2017. Copies of the plans and specifications may be viewed online and printed from the Builders Exchange Northwest Michigan (BXTVC) by going to: http://www.bxtvc.com/ and clicking on “Private Projects” using Code # 17413123157. Members may use their regular user ID and Password. Non-members must complete an online registration form first to get a user ID and password. If printed plans and specifications are desired, then complete the online order form, secure online payment for printed copies and they will be mailed/delivered by the BXTVC. Bidder responsible for acknowledgement of all addenda with sealed bid. Members will receive addenda by tracking the project. Non-members will need to log in to check for addenda.
A certified check, bank draft or bid bond without condition to the City of Traverse City in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount shall be submitted as a guarantee of good faith subject to the conditions stipulated in the “Instructions to Bidders”. The City of Traverse City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and to accept the bids either on an entire or individual basis that is in the best interests of the City of Traverse City. This is not a federal aid project.
