Keystone Facilities & Composting

The City is active in generating compost and mulch as a result of our Leaf & Brush Pick Up Program and the Christmas Tree Drop Off Program.

The City’s Loose Leaf Pick Up program prevents leaves from winding up in a landfill and catch basins. The leaves are turned into rich screened topsoil and used by the Parks Division for flower beds! In 2021, 7620 yards of compacted leaves were picked up!

Though the City's Christmas Tree Drop Off Program, the trees are chipped and used for trail surfacing for City parks and Brown Bridge Quiet Area, mulching material and erosion control.
