The Traverse City Water Treatment Plant laboratory is certified by the State of Michigan to perform Total Coliform and e. Coli testing for drinking water. The laboratory also performs process analyses for chlorine, pH, hardness, alkalinity, calcium hardness, chlorides, sulfates, turbidity, TSS, conductivity, and fluoride. The Water Quality Laboratory at Michigan State University performs Cryptosporidium/Giardia tests on our raw water every month and SOS Analytical in Traverse City performs our annual compliance testing in accordance with EPA regulation
