Firefighter

Summary: Respond to emergencies, extinguish fires, and provide medical aid to protect life and property. 

Compensation Overview​: Start with a base salary of $53,377.35 + Stipends and Allowances. Based on actual earnings from employees hired into this role since 2023, and including projections for 2023 and 2024 (adjusted for hire date) and extrapolating 2025 year-to-date earnings, the three-year average gross pay is approximately $65,673.50. 

This figure is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a wage guarantee. Individual compensation will vary depending on certifications, tenure, stipends, hours worked, and other applicable factors, all governed by the current collective bargaining agreement.

Patrol Officer

Summary:  Protect citizens, enforce laws, and ensure public safety. 

Wage Information: Starting wage is $31.70 per hour for lateral entry.

Water Treatment Plant Operator

Summary: Production of clean and safe water for community use, operate a State Certified Laboratory, and maintain plant facilities and equipment. 

Wage Information: Starting wage is $27.34 per hour. 

G.I.S. & I.T. Support Specialist

Summary: Provides technical support and services across all City departments, combining expertise in Geographic Information Systems and information technology to maintain systems, resolve issues, and support the implementation of new technologies.

Wage Information: The expected hiring range is $62,110.14 - $68,862.62 DOE (the full salary range is $62,110.14– $81,787.19).

Maintenance Technician

Summary: The Traverse City Housing Commission is seeking a dependable team member to perform routine building and grounds maintenance, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs, painting, interior and exterior work, and rotating on-call duties such as emergency response and snow removal.

Wage Information: Starting wage of $21 - $24/hr DOQ
