Human Rights Commission #MeToo Podcast

The Traverse City Human Rights Commission is seeking people willing to share stories of sexual harassment for a community education podcast series we are collaborating with a storytelling consultant to produce.  This series will highlight experiences and consequences of harassment in different environments while illuminating their prevalence and the unfortunate level of comfort society has adopted in response.  Though we also recognize the importance of addressing sexual assault and violence, this series will focus on harassment, specifically.

If you are interested in submitting your story for consideration, please email it to  For those who’ve experienced sexual harassment, we understand the vulnerable position sharing it can put you in.  We appreciate your courage and willingness to speak up and if you prefer, your story can be shared confidentially.  While the stories will detail specific experiences, we will refrain from identifying names of the people and places involved.

We believe telling these stories will continue to bring awareness that harassment should not be acceptable, and that its impacts on people, institutions and society are real and insidious.
