City Commission Meeting Cancelled

Due to adverse weather conditions and recommendations from local and state officials urging residents to stay off the roads, Grand Traverse County and the City of Traverse City will be closing County & City of Traverse City operations today, March 16, 2026 for all non-essential staff. Additionally, the City Commission meeting scheduled for March 16, 2026 has been cancelled.
This decision was made following an Emergency Operations Center briefing and in the interest of protecting the safety of employees and the public during the current weather event. County and City leadership are closely monitoring conditions and following guidance from emergency management and transportation officials regarding road safety.
Essential County and City services will continue to operate as necessary to ensure public safety and the continuity of critical operations.
Residents are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel and to follow guidance from local and state authorities until conditions improve.
