Assist in the Democratic Process - Become an Election Inspector

The City of Traverse City is looking for motivated and professional workers to serve as Election Inspectors at our polling places on Election Day!

There is one election coming up in November and up to four elections in 2020. While Election Day can be a long day, our inspectors get to experience firsthand the entire process of opening the polls, processing voters, and closing the polls at the end of the night. Election Inspectors must be registered voters in the state of Michigan. All workers are paid for their time, including all trainings, and the City Clerk’s Office will provide all the necessary training in advance.

Our Election Inspectors have the responsibility of providing top notch customer service while maintaining best practices and accountability in the polling place. If this is something you are interested in, but maybe working directly with the public isn’t for you, we also need workers for our Absent Voter Counting Boards! These boards also work on Election Day to process the absentee ballots from our citizens who utilize our Absentee Voting Process.
