Our Water Source

The City’s drinking water source is Lake Michigan, East Grand Traverse Bay.  The intake is a steel and wood crib about 15 feet in diameter lying about forty (40) feet below the water surface.  The Low Service Pump Station pushes raw water to the water filtration plant where it is treated to drinking water standards.
