Sidewalk Snow Removal

Clearing snow from sidewalks is crucial for accessibility as it ensures everyone, including individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges, can navigate freely. Additionally, it promotes safety by preventing slips and falls, reducing the risk of accidents for pedestrians.

The City, by oridinance, requires the removal of snow on sidewalks adjacent to your residential property or business.

The removal of snow and ice from private property and the sidewalk abutting or crossing private property shall be the responsibility of the occupant of such private property. However, if there is no occupant or if the occupant cannot be determined due to multiple occupancy of the property, then the responsibility shall be the owners of such private property. A person who violates this section is responsible for a civil infraction.
