200 Block Lake Avenue Closure

Lake Ave. will be closed September 4, 2018 thru November 15, 2018

TRAVERSE CITY- Motorists and pedestrians should be aware that Crawford Construction will be closing the 200 Block and a portion of the 100 Block of Lake Ave. between E. Eighth St. and S. Union St. for reconstruction of the street including underground utilities.  This closure will take place on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. and will re-open on November 15 at 5:00 p.m.  This will cause disruptions to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.  The closure is weather dependent.

Lake Ave. will be closed to all traffic between S. Cass St. and E. Eighth St. Access to businesses and homes in the closed area will be maintained from the side streets and alleys. The crossing at E. Eighth St. will be maintained as much as possible. Truck traffic serving businesses in the closed area will be allowed to use other local streets for deliveries to the area as well as approved coordination with the Contractor. A detour will be provided to bypass this section of Lake Ave. Sidewalks will be closed but every effort will be made to have them accessible during the project for businesses. These restrictions are for the safety of the workers and the public, as well as to expedite the construction to reduce the time needed to complete the work.

Please use alternate routes avoiding this area to reduce congestion, delay and inconvenience for your travels. Appropriate signage and barricades will be in place in and around the work areas. This construction will generate dust, noise and cause inconvenience. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. Please feel free to call Zach Cole at 922-4492 if you have any questions, comments or concerns about the work or the schedule.
